I'm Sarah Fox, a 30-year-old Illustrator from Cheltenham, England. I make illustrations to bring surreal and fun ideas to life.
My work is hand drawn with pencil, and finished in pen and ink on paper. The drawings are then scanned into Adobe Photoshop and coloured digitally.
Inspiration comes from a mix of things, including my two witty young boys, skateboarding, 90's cartoons, the rave scene, and rock bands. Artists that I look up to include Justin Maller, Kevin Roodhorst, Lidia Cao, Iain Macarthur, and Tim Mcdonagh. I gravitate towards cartoons and surrealism to escape the real world. I have a hand drawn 2D cartoon look, with vibrant, bold, flat colours, gradients, and a humorous energy.
I love a good belly laugh and am easily amused, so I’m trying to commit to silly ideas and stories more. The challenge after that is to execute those ideas to a standard that satisfies. On the other hand, I am a deep thinker, so I try to produce work that shows personality and emotion.
My goal is to inject the world with beauty whilst having fun. Secretly, I want to be known as a cool artist in the skateboarding industry. Until then, I'm branching into product and packaging, merchandise, and children’s illustration. I would also love to be doing wall murals, there’s something grungy and satisfying about art on textured walls. The bigger the better!
